Friends of SOS Children’s Village Tamale held a maiden meeting to discuss among other things plans for the Tamale Village, elect leaders and fashion out how to support the ongoing development initiatives in the location.
Since their inauguration on 28th July, 2017, the group has made efforts to dedicatedly use their position to drive the fundraising activities in the location.
Madam Benedicta Pealore, Programme Director of Tamale location officially welcomed the friends and expressed her joy towards their commitment to support the growth of the children. She further used the opportunity to inform the friends on the new direction of SOS Children’s Village Ghana and the significant role they can play to ensure that the vision and mission of the organization is achieved.
Present at the meeting were Chief Yussif Abdallah, a traditional ruler, Mr. Abdulai Fatawu , a Health Administrator and Businessman, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul-Hanan, Owner and CEO of Marees Hostels, Madam Adam Mariam of Goil Tamale and Mr. Abraham Doku, a Line Supervisor at GRIDCO Tamale.
Others in the meeting were members of SOS CV Tamale Management team which includes Mr. Christopher Luguterah, Village Director, Mr. Joseph Agoona, FSP Coordinator, Mr. Daniel Bani, Head of SOS Herman Gmeiner School Tamale, Eden Boateng, Project Accountant and Mr. Steve Kubate Salifu, Sponsorship, Fundraising and Communications Officer.
Speaking to a friend of the location, in the person of Abdulai Fatawu, who expressed his appreciation for the opportunity given the group to be part of the SOS Fraternity. He also, assured Management that the group is ready and willing to assist the organization to achieve its objectives of helping the less privileged in society.
